Club Red Card System
We have large numbers of athletes and only a few coaches. Our coaches love to coach - they do not want to spend time during the session dealing with silly or inattentive behaviour and rudeness. Anyone who misbehaves, does not listen or distracts others from their training will be issued with a ‘Red Card’ suspending them from training. Parents will then have to meet the coach and welfare officer at a mutually convenient time before the athlete is allowed to join back in.
Thankfully, behavioural issues are in the minority. We have a great bunch of athletes who turn up and work hard and so it is all the more important to not let the few spoil it for the rest. Please also bear in mind we expect our athletes to uphold the same values of sportsmanship off the field as they do when they are engaged in athletics.
