Social Distancing Sprint Training
In line with current Government guidance, England Athletics have now sanctioned a restricted return to training activity for groups of up to SIX people (including coaches). Their guidance can be found here: https://www.englandathletics.org/athletics-and-running/news/guidance-update-step-2/
Clearly, we are still a long way from returning to normal training activity, particularly with the leisure centre and track itself closed. However, James will provide sprint coaching to athletes in Rushcliffe Country Park at 7pm on Tuesdays. As you can imagine, this comes with a LOT of conditions: Please read them carefully before requesting a place:
Clearly, we are still a long way from returning to normal training activity, particularly with the leisure centre and track itself closed. However, James will provide sprint coaching to athletes in Rushcliffe Country Park at 7pm on Tuesdays. As you can imagine, this comes with a LOT of conditions: Please read them carefully before requesting a place:
- Training is by athlete request (or their parent if U18). If you would like to train, complete the form below NO LATER THAN 24 HOURS BEFORE THE SESSION (i.e. by 7 p.m. on Monday).
- Any athlete from School Year 6 upwards is welcome to request training.
- Only current RAC members can request training.
- James will arrange groups and let you know if you have a place. He’ll do his best to fit everyone in on a first come first served basis.
- Groups will not exceed 12 athletes plus coach.
- Under no circumstances must you turn up to train without having a confirmed place.
- If, having being offered a place, you are unable to attend for any reason please let James know asap so the place can be reallocated.
- Sessions may be cancelled at short notice if Government or EA guidance changes or coaches have to isolate, so check Facebook and your phone before setting off.
- All attendees must read and follow the EA Athlete Guidance: https://d192th1lqal2xm.cloudfront.net/2020/06/EA-return-to-activity-guidance-athletes-and-runners-Step-2-1.pdf
- If you have any Covid-19 symptoms, or have been in contact with someone who has symptoms, or have been contacted by the track and tracers, you must not request or come to training.
- Athletes should meet in the small gated car park next to the ranger hut, and stand 2m apart from each other. If more than one group of athletes are training at the same time, the coaches will direct the groups to stand 20m apart. You must follow their instruction.
- Please arrive promptly at the meeting point (but feel free to warm up prior to that if you like).
- Athletes under 18 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian/responsible adult who must remain in the park for the duration of the session (if not running themselves) and be contactable by phone. The coach will carry a phone containing contact numbers.
- When dropping off U18 athletes, accompanying adults must maintain at least 20m distance from any group.
- At the end of the session, U18 athletes must be collected from the drop off point by their accompanying adult.
- Sessions will take place in quite areas, away from park users.
- The toilets in the park are closed, so make sure you go before you leave home.
- Whilst there will be no contact with individuals or shared surfaces, please bring hand sanitiser.
- The coaches will have hand sanitiser, towel and first aid kit if required.
