The above form is for Rushcliffe AC Jumps night, this will consist of Standing Long Jump, Standing Triple Jump, Standing Box Jump and High Jump. it will take place on Thursday 20th July 2017. This is free to enter and for all ages, parents are welcome to jump as well.
The Rules
As you may already know Rushcliffe AC hold Race Nights which consist of running events that athletes tend not to do, like the 1000m, 600m, 809m and so on. We have kept this tradition and have incorporated it with the new, Jumps Night. This means the rules for the Jumps Night is slightly different to normal rules due to time constraints and because it's more fun this way.
Standing Long Jump - Rules
- Start by standing on the take of board with both feet
- Jump into the pit from a two foot take off with no run up
- Jump is measured from the nearest mark to the take-off board.
- Each athlete will have 3 attempts to jump as far as they can
Standing High Jump (Plyo Box Jump) - Rules
- Start by standing in front of the plyo box
- Jump onto the box from a two foot take off and land with both feet at the same time without putting your hands on the box.
- Athletes must be able to stand up on the box to confirm a legal jump.
- Each athlete will have 3 attempts to jump any combination of the 4 plyo boxes
Standing Triple Jump - Rules
- The athlete must stand behind the selected take off line on their preferred take off foot
- The Athlete will then hop from their preferred take off foot with the athlete landing onto the same foot, then a step is taken onto the other foot, then the jump is performed by finally landing on both feet
- If the athlete steps back after landing, or falls back or touches the floor behind their heel, a no jump is recorded
- Measurement is taken from the take off line to the back of the closest heel on landing
High Jump - Rules
- Athletes can select their run up distance
- Athletes must take off from one foot
- The bar must remain on the uprights for it to count as a legal jump
- Each athlete will have 3 attempts to jump as high as they can (3 jumps in total not 3 jumps at each height)
